E-Field Probe calibration

Ensure traceability to international standards!

The E-field probe is the reference in any radiated immunity test system. To ensure that it measures correctly and you are testing at the right field level the E-field probe has to be calibrated and achieve traceability to international standards. Kiwa can offer this service!

Calibration range

Kiwa is ISO/IEC 17025 accredited to calibrate E-field probes in a maximum frequency range from 100 kHz to 40 GHz. The standard calibration level is 20 V/m but optionally E-field probes can be calibrated up to 200 V/m (100 kHz up to 200 MHz) 100 V/m (200 MHz up to 18 GHz) and 20 V/m (18GHz up to 40 GHz).

IEC 61000-4-3 calibration method

For ISO/IEC tropic (X-Y-Z) E-field probes, the frequency response will be calibrated in the total frequency range of the E-field probe in all three probe orientations. This will result into individual correction factors for each probe axis, X-Y-Z. Next to this the isotropy will be calibrated at three different frequencies through the band of the E-field probe where the probe will be changed to all three orientations. Finally the linearity will be calibrated at one single frequency, where the field level will be measured over a range of -6 dB to + 6 dB from the reference level. All calibration data is included in a calibration certificate and will be provided in electronic (Excel®) format as well.
