Product Safety Testing

Low Voltage and Machinery Directives

Product safety is everyone's concern and covers a wide area. It is therefore no surprise that a great number of European Directives are aimed at safety. Kiwa Dare performs tests and measurements in the area of Low Voltage and Machinery Safety for many years now.

Kiwa Dare performs measurements and assessments with regard to the:

Low Voltage Directive (LVD)

Machinery Directive

When applicable?

The Low Voltage Directive is applicable for products with a mains of nominal AC Voltage between 50 Volt and 1.000 Volt or DC Voltage respectively 75 Volt and 1.500 Volt. It is not right to assume the Low Voltage Directive is only aiming at electrical safety. Although its name may be misleading, the Low Voltage Directive covers also mechanical, chemical, radiation and thermal safety.

The Machinery Directive

The Machinery Directive is applicable to all products that contain one or more moving parts with an intrinsic function.
