EMC aspects for the PCB designer. Filter techniques, component arrangement, routing, single versus muli-layer and Lay-out arrangement.

Product Safety for the designer of PCB and apparatus (EN60950)

Product safety at the PCB level. Creepage and clearance distance, safety grounding, thermal safety and mechanical safety. Concepts like “single fault conditions” and “foreseeable misuse”.

ESD phenomena, cause and effect of ESD discharges. Implementation of an ESD secure area. Setup, implement and maintain an ESD plan.

Work safe with EM radiation*

(0,5 day)

Working with electromagnetic fields can bring dangers with it. This module shows how one can work safely with electromagnetic radiation. The legal requirements as well as the measurementmethods are discussed.
