RF Design services from DARE!! Development
RF and Microwave design
The engineers of DARE!! Development have many years of experience with RF and microwave designs in the fields of military, industrial and consumer applications.
At microwave frequencies components become electrically large and parasitic effects become more significant. Special microwave design techniques must be adopted to properly simulate the distributed nature of these components.
Our engineers can either perform a whole RF or microwave design for you or just a partial RF design like an antenna, filter or PLL design.
Antenna design
DARE!! uses “Advanced Design System” (ADS) software from Agilent to design different kinds of antennas like patch antennas, patch antenna arrays and dipole like antennas (for example dual or triple band GSM antennas). Antennas can be designed in the frequency range from a view 100 MHz up to 40 GHz.

Antenna Radiation Patteren
Integrating an antenna in to your product
When an antenna is used inside the housing of a product care must be taken to take the influence of the housing and electronics into account. The dielectric constant of the housing (Er), the material thickness in front of the antenna and the air cap between the antenna and housing are crucial for good antenna performance. All these parameters will be used to achieve the optimum antenna design for you application.

Dual Band Patch Antenna
Rapid antenna proto typing
To be able to design an antenna in the shortest possible timeframe DARE!! uses a LPKF circuit board plotter for in-house rapid antenna prototyping.

Milling Machine for rapid protoryping
Antenna calibration
The antenna calibration site or one of the anechoic chambers from DARE!! can be used to verify the antenna performance. Here we can verify antenna gain and radiation pattern of the antenna. The input impedance of the antenna is measured using a network analyzer.

Antenna Measurement Room
RF and microwave filter desig
DARE!! can take care of all of your discrete and planar filter requirements.
Design of:
• Discrete (lumped element) filter modeling and design
• Planar parallel coupled line filters, interdigital filters, combline filters, capacitive end-coupled filters, stepped-impedance filters, stub filters, etc.
• Synthesis of filter response with general Chebyshev, elliptic, Butterworth and phase equalized characteristics
• Directional coupler and rate race coupler design
• Etc.

Integrated Band Pass Filter
RF and Microwave receiver and transmitter design
DARE!! Development has an extensive experience designing receivers in the frequency range ranging from 9 kHz to 40 GHz. Including design of low noise synthesizers / PLL’s, filters, microcontrollers and required embedded software.
We can assist you with your short-range (SRD) / ISM device requirements for wireless transfer of data, video or audio signals.
When designing a transmitter, parameters as output power, phase noise, spurious signals and linearity are of great importance. DARE!! has the design tools and measurement equipment to design and verify all of these essential parameters.
CE marking and type approval
DARE!! Consultancy as an accredited laboratory can take care of all applicable tests for the EMC directive, low voltage directive, R&TTE directive and/or automotive directive.
DARE!! Development Laser application design services
Analog laser links:
DARE!! has more than 10 years experience with analog fiber optic communications. Our standard analog fiber optic link has a frequency range from 9 kHz up to 3 GHz and a Noise figure of only 3 dB.
These analog fiber optic links can be used during EMC measurements, antenna remoting and many other applications.
Power over fiber
In order to achieve a complete galvanic isolated electronic system, not only data transfer should be carried out over fiber optic cables, also the power supply should be isolated. Of course this can be achieved with batteries but this will be a problem when batteries run out (for example at remote places which are difficult to reach).
With a Power Over Fiber (POF) module an excellent isolation can be achieved without the need of maintenance. We can deliver a customized laser power supply for your fiber optic application.
With a single fiber, we can deliver up to 6Volt / 20 mA or 120mW of electrical power.
While a high power laser is used to achieve this, LASER safety is of great importance. DARE!! POF modules are designed with a triple security system for maximum safety. The protection system shuts down the laser the moment a fiber optic connector is disconnected or the fiber optic cable is broken.
Turn key design services
DARE!! can offer turn key design services including hardware design, embedded software design, PC control software and mechanical design (for the housing).
Our designs are optimized to reduce production costs to a minimum, meaning our designs are optimized for automatic production with a minimum of handwork.
While most assembly time nowadays is spend mounting the electronics into its housing, much effort is spend to optimize the design of the housing for easy assembly.
If required, DARE!! can also take care of the total production of your product.
